Twitter Coin coming soon? while Dogecoiners remain hopeful.

Twitter is considering launching its own coin called “Twitter Coin” for payments and tipping on the platform, according to Nima Owji, who runs an app-centric information leak account on Twitter.

On January 11, well-known tech blogger Jane Manchun Wong tweeted that Twitter is working on a Twitter Coin purchase page, which shows that purchases will be made through payment processor Stripe. Twitter is also working on a “Coins” menu item that will take users to the purchase screen.

There are still those who Optimistically believe that Twitter Coin is just a fictional moniker for Dogecoin, especially given Musk’s long history of using modal coins. Members of the Dogecoin community, which has gone viral on Twitter and Reddit, have also tried to connect the dots. On 4 December, Musk hinted at his interest in integrating the cryptocurrency with Twitter during a presentation at Twitter Spaces, and the community was very excited about it.
